Kids at the Ridge Union
How do we teach kids?
We believe that parents are the ones chiefly responsible for the discipling of their children. We want to come alongside parents, and encourage and support them in the teaching of their kids.
Kids are in service
The Ridge Union has quite a few kids, and we have our kids in service. Most children are capable of learning from a Sunday Sermon, especially if their parents take the time to walk through the sermon with them. We encourage parents to read through the sermon text with their children before getting to church on Sunday, keeping their kids in service, and walking through the sermon and the text with their children afterwards. We have family devotionals based on the sermon available every Sunday, so families can work through the sermon together sometime throughout the week.
"Noisy Blessings"
We understand that it can be challenging to sit still for a 30(ish) minute sermon. We have quiet bags available for kids, along with a cry room and nursery available to any family if the need arises. With kids in service, sometimes service will be interrupted. But that's okay, and if the church isn't crying, it's dying!
Then children were brought to him that he might lay his hands on them and pray. The disciples rebuked the people, but Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven."
Matthew 19:13-14
